Here are my 2017-2018 homeschool curriculum choices for 1st grade!
Math: Math Lessons for a Living Education Level 1 – This is the first year we have ever used this curriculum. The new concept is taught in a story at the beginning of every week. There are math worksheets and activities to do for the rest of the week.
Reading: All About Reading Level 1 and silent reading – Last year I started this curriculum with G but she just wasn’t ready. We stepped back and have seen great progress. This year she is more than ready. She has already read through the first reader on her own! In addition to the curriculum, G will choose books to read out loud to herself at quiet time.
Handwriting: A Reason for Handwriting Level A – In this handwriting program there is a new verse every week. She will practice writing a part of that verse everyday. At the end of the week she gets to pick out a blank page with a fun border or picture on it that she can color after she writes the verse.
Grammar: Grammar Galaxy Nebula – G is doing this with J this year. The story at the beginning of the week teaches the new concept. For the rest of the week there are worksheets and activities that go along with the new concept they learned.
G will also participate in the Bible, history, and science curriculum I talked about in this post.
