Here are our 3rd grade homeschool curriculum choices for 2017-2018.
Math: Teaching Textbooks 3 – This is the first year J is using this program. She is very excited to get to do math on the computer and I am excited because this is one less math lesson I have to teach!
Math facts: Xtramath.org – This is an awesome website that helps kids learn their math facts. J used this last year and will continue using it this year.
Spelling: All About Spelling Levels 2 and 3 – We got about halfway through this curriculum last year so we will pick up where we left off. When we finish we will move on to Level 3. J and M will work through this together.
Grammar: Grammar Galaxy – This is a new-to-us curriculum that we are excited to try! J and G will be working on this together. There is a story every week that teaches the new concept and then worksheets covering the new concept for the rest of the week.
Handwriting: A Reason for Handwriting Level T – J asked if she could learn cursive this year so we are jumping into it!
Reading: All About Reading Level 2 & 3 plus silent reading – We will finish level 2 at the beginning of the year and then move on to level 3. I let J pick books that interest her and she reads during our afternoon quiet time.
Reading Comp: The Complete Book of Animal Stories – This is a fun, colorful reading comp book that has a small story and questions about the story. This is not something she has to do everyday.
Writing: How To Write a Paragraph by Crafty Classroom – This program will teach her how to write four different types of paragraphs.
These are the things J will be working on in addition to the Bible, history, and science curriculum I talked about in this post.
